    Key Differences Explained

    • Syllabus: JEE Advanced may include topics not in JEE Main (like Rotation in Mechanics).
    • Questions: JEE Main focuses on speed + accuracy; Advanced tests deeper logic & problem-solving.
    • Marking: JEE Advanced has partial marking, multiple correct options, and negative marking — it's more complex.
    • Cutoffs: JEE Main has percentile-based cutoffs. JEE Advanced has qualifying marks + rank-based selection.
    • Colleges: JEE Main → NITs/IIITs, JEE Advanced → Only IITs.

Which One Should You Focus On?

    • If your dream is an IIT (like IIT Bombay CSE), JEE Advanced is your goal — but you must qualify JEE Main first.
    • If you're aiming for top NITs (like NIT Trichy or Warangal), scoring 98–99.5 percentile in JEE Main is enough.
    • Ideal approach: Prepare for JEE Advanced level — you’ll automatically do well in JEE Main.

    Final Word from AcadXL

Both exams are important in their own way. The key is to understand the pattern, set your goal early, and prepare smartly.
